The Sis Ganj Story

Soon after the joyous celebrations for Guru Nanak, comes the sad event of the martyrdomday of Guru Teg Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru. It was at the site of the SisGanj Gurdwara in Delhi's Chandni Chowk where the guru was beheaded in 1675.Guru Teg Bahadur had  taken on the mighty Mughals and made the supreme sacrifice of his life to protect the faith and honour of the persecuted and the down trodden. He is called Hind-di-chaddar or sheild of India. The guru was borne in Amritsar in 1621 and named Tyagmal. The name Teg Bahadur,"mighty of sword" was given to him by his father, Guru Hargobind, after he fought with Valour against the Mughals.

Aurangzeb's seized power in 1658 after executing liberal minded brother, Dara Shukoh. Aurangzeb had perceived India as an Islamic Theocracy and sought to convert Hindus to Islam. He decided to begin conversions with the Kashmere Pundits.

In a desperate bit to save their community, Kashmere Pundits led by Pundit Kripa Ram visited Guru Teg Bahadur at Anandpur requesting him to protect their faith. The compassionate Guru heard their request and said "these atrocities can only be stopped with supreme sacrifice of a Mahapurush" and so it was the guru decided to step in knowing fully that he might have to pay with his life. He asked the Kashmere Pundits to tell Aurangzeb that if he could convert guru Teg Bahadur, they would all convert. On hearing this, Aurangzeb had the guru imprisoned and brought to Delhi.

The Mughal first killed his companions captured with him, hoping it would force him into compliance. The Guru witnessed the savagery with Divine calm. When he still could not be persuaded to abandon his faith, he was asked to perform miracle to prove his divinity. The Guru refused and was beheaded at the spot where the Sis Ganj Gurudwara now stands.

Life

People and situations respond to you differently once your thoughts change. Situations change, people change,  even solid material things change, once you learn to perceive situations differently from what they appear. Most people react , they do not  respond.Response is action.Action is a conscious decision; reaction is an act of impulsiveness. No one can go back and make a brand new start. Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending. We indulge in vices not only physically but more often through our minds. Guard against this tendency. So one can turn adversity into advantage through understanding and effort. For life to turn into a great victory, you have to win many small battles along the way.

Kalam's Khazana

As a young citizen of India armed with technology, knowledge and love for mu nation, I realize, small aim is a crime............
I will work and sweat for a great vision, the finish of transforming India into a developed nation powered by economic strength with value system........
I will keep the lamp of knowledge burning to achieve the vision- developed India
                                                       - A.P.J Abdul Kalam"Ignited Minds"
Men often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe that i cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, then I acquire the ability to do it even if I didn't have it in the beginning"

A gift from father to daughter

The day after dusshera,  I received a call from my father. He sounded thoroughly excited. He asked me that am i able to hear music from the back. I listened carefully then i could hear drums,  folk songs, bhajans and Ma durga's aarti. My father told me that 20 km away from Shridham, 15 to 20 idols of Ma durga are collectively immersed in the Narmada river.People welcome them from whichever place they are passed. As my father was telling this, i could visualise all these events. Each idol of Ma Durga was crossing in front of our house with loud Sher-kali dance and folk bhajan. When my father called me, that was the time, the idol of Ma durga was being welcomed in our house, people who came with the idol of Ma Durga were having bhog prasad in our house which were prepared by the halwai of the house.
Many idols of Ma Durga were crossing in front of our house and were heading towards the river Narmada. It seemed as if Ma Durga landed on earth to give a glimpse of herself to her devotees. All devotees were busy in Seva of Ma. It seemed as if I was day-dreaming, the emotions with which my father was describing all these events were automatically trasferred to me. It was a kind if revisiting my childhood days.

From this event, I understood that whether it is for god or a human being, it is only through emotions that one can communicate what feelings are going in a person.

Be Mindful of Yesterday, Today and Tommorrow

Do we have likes and dislikes or do likes and dislikes have us? As unconscious beings, lives and dislikes control our lives. Conscious beings are masters of likes and dislikes. When lives and dislikes are under your control, they will serve you.
It is wrong to say that we have to live only in the present. One needs to consider time as past, present and future.  Some people operate from the past, some are future-oriented so they mostly operate from the future and some are present-oriented. To be wise involves balancing the three-time periods...when required you have to take reference from the past or consider the future. Hence balancing time is very essential.
Do not reject the past or the future also do not only live in the past or the future. Learn from the past, enjoy the present and plan for the future. Be present in the past and thereby, learn from the past. Be present in the future, thereby, plan for the future, being alive in the present, you will enjoy the present.

It is said that one of the reasons Hitler lost the war was because he did not learn from the history. He attacked Russia in winter, had he learnt from the past he would have known that Napoleon had lost many of his men by attacking Russia in winter. One can learn from the past as well as from the future, taking care  not to be imprisoned by both. Similarly, while planning for the future do not loose the present and miss the wisdom of the past or the opportunities of the future. Hence one needs to be balanced with reference to time. Decide on your priorities in life. Prioritize your own priorities. Establish your peak performance or time during a day, monitor your low performance time. Do any important task at your peak performance time.
Do any less important task at your low performance time.

Identify your time wasters, learn to delegate work. Enjoy your work and you will find there a lot of time.
Review your priorities from time to time. We the people who are good at time management. Time will melt into timelessness, use time to go beyond time. We live in two worlds, a world of the mind which is in time, a world beyond time that is timelessness. When we are in sleep or in samadhi,we go beyond time and experience timelessness. One must have the wisdom to use the mind and the wisdom to go beyond the time. In state of deep joy, we are beyond our mind.
Mind is a bundle of thoughts. More than heart-attacks we suffer from thought-attacks.

When thoughts attacks us, we become victims of thought it is like employing someone and then being thrashed by him. You should be master of the mind, rather than  mind being  your master. You should use the mind rather than let the mind use you. The very intention to be master of your mind will give you the wisdom of how to use the mind.

How to be Happy?

The real sources of Happiness are:
1. Meditation gives you a new dimension of understanding your own thoughts.
2. We should always try to do actions which not only benefits us but also others.
3. We should try to build social relationship that support intimacy and bounding.
4. Take enjoyment in natural beauty.
5. Aim for inner fulfillment rather than external fulfillment.
6. Try to reduce stress.
7. Learn to love your own company, be creative, try to learn new things, listen music.
8. Abolish violence and anger.
9. Resolve conflicts, both inner and outer, rather then letting them build up.
10. Cultivate kindness and compassion. Being generous of spirit, learn to share.

Magic of The Art Of Living

Through my daughter Karnika's persuasion,I joint three days course of The Art Of Living. What I saw there most of the people.,whether young or old were suffering from stress and so,all of them wanted peace and happiness in their lives. Many of them felt a sense of loneliness which was due to lack of connectivity with their own family members and loss of control in their personal lives. While others were unable to cope with their dire circumstances. The biggest message in The Art Of Living is that " Accept the people and the situations as they are, don't change them according to you." This view helps in reducing a person's level of stress. The Art Of Living is like a psychological group therapy  where people come together to share their thoughts, this provide a strong support to them. Sudarshan Kriya, which is taught during the three day course, is in itself a unique practice which help to keep our body and soul fit. Sudarshan Kriya is a combination of pranayam and meditation. The Art Of Living gets involved with your daily habits and you no longer perceive life as mundane. The soothing music and bhajans are the essence of The Art Of Living. After joining the Art of Living, one can never view a problem as a difficult situation because we surrender all our problems to Guruji.

Dev Balram

Balram, son of Vasudev and Rohini and Krishna's elder brother was very attractive and generous. According to Jain scriptures "Harivansh Puran", after Krishna's death, he became Jain monk. Digamber Jain monks live without clothes or in Digamber veish. His place of 'dyan' was Mangey-tungey. It is said that one day he went to a village near Mangey-tungey for ''ahar-chariya'' or "bhiksha". The women of that village were mesmerized when they looked at him. Some of these women were so engrossed in him that instead of putting rope on the pot to fetch the water from the well, they tied the rope around their children. When Baldev saw this, he was disappointed for his own looks. And so, he went back to his mountain where he was in "dyan" and took a pledge not to appear before anyone and so, he sat in such a way so that no one could see his face and as a result one could see only his back. After a very difficult "dyan", he attained his salvation. Till date, we can see the statue of Balram in Mangey-tungey from his backside and not his face.

I wonder, how the golden city of Dwarka turned into ashes and Krishna's death changed Balram's mind that he turned himself from a king to a monk.

Story of Maangey-Tungey Shrine

There are 24 Tirthankars  in Jain religion. In each part of India there are Jain shrines which has its own ancient story. During my childhood, my mother used to tell me about our Jain teerth sthal or shrines.  I have a hazy memory of Maangey-tungey sthal, yesterday I read about this shrine in a book. Near Nasik, there is a mountain with the height of about 4300 feet. This mountain has two peaks, one is called Maangey and another as Tungi. Around these mountains there is a dense forest where there is a temple of Lord Parasnath. Ram,Sita,Sugreev,Nal.,Neel,Baldev.and many others attained their salvation in this place. It is also said that when Dwarka was in flames, Krishna and Baldev went to this forest, while roaming in the forest Krishna started  feeling thirsty, Baldev asked Krishna to lye down under a tree until he gets water for him. Baldev searched each hook and corner of the forest but could not find water, after a while he saw a cave in which there was a pond. Meanwhile, when Krishna was sleeping under the tree, the lotus signs in his feet were shining like the eyes of a deer. Raja Jaradh Kumar who belonged to the same clan of Krishna, went to the same forest for hunting. Thinking it as the eyes of a deer he shot an arrow which stuck Krishna's feet. When Raja Jaradh realized his mistake , he went to Krishna to apologize. Krishna forgave him and asked him to immediately leave the forest otherwise Baldev would not be able to control his anger and would kill him.
When Baldev reached, Krishna was dead by then. Baldev carried Krishna's dead body on his shoulders and went each place for someone to revive Krishna. When devtas saw this act by Baldev, they reminded Baldev in different ways that it is impossible to bring Krishna back to life. Being in a state of complete sorrow, Baldev performed Krishna's pyre and performed the last rituals for Krishna. Till date Krishna's samadhi is present in Maangey-tungey. Baldev also attained his salvation by being in this place.

It is said that by visiting this shrine, human beings are freed from their sorrows and difficulties which they are facing in their lives.

Journey of Joy

Since my younger days, I was always fascinated by train journey. This is because in every journey I experience something new. Last month when I went to Jaipur by train , few medical students boarded the train from Delhi Cantt, they were discussing their exam paper with full excitement. It seemed as if the whole compartment turned into an examination room. As soon as chai walla and samosa and bread pakore walla entered the compartment, within few minutes the seller’s thali was emptied . These young doctors full of energy, made me feel proud. When the train reached Alwar junction I saw locomotive steam engine, which remided me of my childhood.
When I was going to Hubli from delhi by train with my family, the railway junction of each state  reflected its own culture. Like Mathura’s pedhe, dal pakori, Agra ka petha , Gwalior’s sachi milk  etc.

I can never forget Bhusawal junction which is adjoined with the Tapti river from where one could see the huge banana fields. Early morning, when we got down at bhusawal station and I saw local people selling home made dhoklas, pav vadha and bhel puri. Manwadh station hasn’t changed from the past 100 years. We heard a loudspeaker giving information to the guard to wave the green flag. This kind  of communication I have never seen before.  We slowly crossed the small towns of Maharashtra . These places have  preserved their culture from clothing style to their  language.  All the students and service class people got down at Pune because of which our train was almost vacant . We were soon accompanied by some intellectual people.  And all of us were engrossed with discussions on  politics and Anna Hazare’s fast against corruption.  Many of them shared their experiences with us which was a kind of learning experience for me.
After all these unforgettable moments, we finally reached Hubli station. It seemed as if we have landed in a dreamland with drizzling and hills surrounding the station.

Journey of Joy

The Hindu saints since the ancient times, made various rituals which provided directions in the lives of the people. For a long period of time, we thought that the festivals, traditions and rituals are the means to pass our time. But later we understood that each festival, traditions and rituals are depended on the seasons. In fact our food, clothing and other small things related to our lifestyle are associated with these traditions. These things not only provide directions to our lives but also happiness, ability to deal with sorrow and also develop our strong social support .
In Hindu religion, there exist a tradition that a married son will take his family members to a shrine. Why was this tradition  made? Because it strengthens the unity of the family and it helped the bride to understand the values of the family in which she is married. The energy of the young adults of the family made the whole family happy.
In our journey to Houmbaj, we saw our children's happiness at each moment which made our journey even more enjoyable.
We never thought that Karnataka is full of scenic beauties, the river, lakes, hills , paddy fields, enhanced the beauty of Karnataka.. The banana fields, coconut trees and areca nut trees added to the charm of the land. The colorful houses and the temples gave Karnataka a unique look.  We reached Jog fall half wet due to rain. How could we forget the sweet pineapple we had on the roadside, brunch with hot Idli-Sambhar and dosa. and the view of the small village houses. While on our way to the destination, these sights made our trip a priceless experience.

Growing With Faith

Since 1998, I wanted to visit one of our Jain shrines called Houmbuj which is located in Karanataka. Houmbaj is located in Shimoga district which is 7 hours away from Bangalore and 3 hours away from Hubbli.
In 12th century B.C.Houmbuj was one of the biggest cities of ancient India which was then known as Paromprush. The queen of the city, Rani Chetawati made Panchvasdi which mean 5 temples in one campus of the 5 Jain Teerthankars which are Adinath, Ajitnath, Shantinath, Parashnath and Mahavir swami.

This temple is now, preserved by The Archeological Department of India. Apart from these temples, the main temple near Panchvasdi is Bhagwan Parasnath and Ma Padmavati temple which is visited by many devotees each month.

I worship Ma Padmavati  not because my parents asked me to worship Ma but my faith in Ma Padmavati bloomed after my many personal experiences through which I felt the presence and blessings of Ma in my life.
First, my eldest daughter Priyanka wanted to be admitted in one of best colleges of Delhi University which was known for its course in Geography. Priyanka prayed to Ma Padmavati for whole one year. Not only did Priyanka completed her BA and MA but also went to Kentucky University for her PhD.
After 2 year of her Masters in Kentucky, I was again bothered for her marriage. I  looked at  Ma and prayed that once Priyanka get a suitable spouse, I will come to Houmbuj for Ma's darshan.
But after her marriage, I had fallen sick and for 2 years I didn't get the chance to visit the shrine. After my second daughter's and my son's marriage, I was again unable to visit Houmbaj.
Last year I  again fell sick. It was at that time that I made a strong will to go for Ma's darshan.
And finally got the opportunity to visit Houmbuj with my brother- and sister- in- law along with my son and daughter-in-law.

While entering the temple, I felt the presence of Ma everywhere. The compound of the temple had some of the oldest sculptures of god and goddess. The main temple of the whole complex was of Bhagwan Parasnath with Ma Padmavati. The statues of Bhagwan Parasnath and Ma Padmavati was made out of Black Marble.

The shringar and the garlands enhanced the beauty and power of Ma Padmavati and it seemed as if Ma was sitting in front of us and was smiling. While praying i felt as if Ma was showering her blessings on us.
I have installed in my heart  Ma and Bhagwan Parasnath's idols.

KARMA AND FEELINGS

Sometimes, we worry a lot about small things which are not important while ignoring some of the most important things which matters a lot. In our effort to reach our goals, we have to go through the tough times but also witness some of the good moments but it is important to note that both the good and the bad times make our life worthwhile. When there are good times,we feel happy and try to make others happy too but how we behave during tough times is the real test of our temperament. Envy, anger, tantrums, sorrow, irritation disturbs our aura which throw us again in the cycle of life and death. We should try to make our life as simple as possible while ignoring and not pondering over what others have told you which made you feel so.
We have to acknowledge the fact that there are positive and negative points in each of us so ignore the negative points and look for positive ones which each person has and try to ingrain this in our temperament.
Secondly, try not to say anything which could hurt the other person because hurting other person's feeling is again an act of non-violence which makes a negative point in your karma.

How to cope with negativity

Self-awareness is unique to human beings. But unfortunately human beings have a habit of comparing their happiness with those around them like friends, relatives or colleagues. We constantly bother that other people are living a more fulfilled lives.
We have to realise that we are in a much better condition than those who are struggling to have even the basic needs of life.
Dissatisfaction or constant nagging destroys the little happiness which we can get in each moment of life-holiday anywhere and you wonder if you should have gone elsewhere, buy three out of eight clothes you like while shopping and you fret later about not choosing the others.
Dissatisfaction is a part of human nature, once we understand this, we can cope better with our own dissatisfaction.
I have gone through a bad phase in my life due to my illness, my sister asked that how are you passing your painful period and i replied " the same way  i have had done if this illness would have not been there". If i would have felt"why me?" then this frame of mind would have worsened my condition, so analyse and understand how to cope with negativity.
Although money is necessary but it cannot guarantee to give you happiness. Many people think that if they have "name, fame and wealth" they are the  happiest people in the world  but this is very unfortunate for them to think so.

We constantly crave for more, in our race to get more and more we forget to enjoy what we have and instead we become dissatisfied and we start comparing our lives with others. Thinking always about our previous sorrows makes us feel all the more unhappy and hence we don't live our present to the fullest.

Good Health

From childhood till our old age,we learn from different experiences. Life is a form of language with its own punctuation marks much like the written language where each punctuation mark has unspoken meaning.

Recently have gone through  the difficult phase of my life where i was completely dependent upon others.
With the care and support from my family, I bounced back to good health within a reasonable period of time. I went through a number of check-ups concerning my vital organs. When each one turned out to be in good shape, I felt I was relearning and revising the lessons of life. I would like to share what I learned during that phase of my life.

Good physical health is the valuable gift of nature, position, power, status and acquisitions tend to loose their meaning if we are not blessed with energetic health. So it is important to recognize and nurture all the enabling
factors which give us energetic physical health. The energetic physical health is person's asset, hence carefully and rightly use it  which would help us to spread happiness everywhere.

for our health, we should consume right and balanced food to maintain our system. The realisation that good health is a precious gift will help us treat the body as a trust, and motivate us to keep it clean and pure as a temple of divinity.

The mind is a part of body which makes the physical energy, intelligible and gives it its worth.
A healthy mind in a healthy body generates good sound, clean and noble thoughts.

One of the ways to express our good  health is by serving humankind through helping the sick person. We can start this by caring for the old member in our family, neighborhood,  community and also in hospitals.

Good health should be used to perform the right karma- in thought, word and deed.

Heart and Soul

Put your heart, mind, intellect and soul even to your smallest acts. This is the secret of your success.
                                                                                                  -Swami Shivanand
Give me love, give me peace on earth, give me light, give me life, keep me free from birth, give me hope, help me cope with this heavy load, trying to, touch and reach you , heart and soul.
                                                                -George Harrison
Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul, it is daily admission of ones weakness. It is better in prayer to have  a heart without words and words without heart.

The Right Attitude Can Lead To Empowerment

A young girl walks on the lonely street, unhappy with herself. She is not beautiful like others are,my friends have boyfriends and i do not.Since i am not beautiful I don't have any boyfriend.A strong breeze blows against her face and her silky hair starts dancing. It says to her 'Be like me my child,go with the flow and you will glow; The  breeze teaches her to have an attitude which will lift her beyond mere physical beauty. The breeze is constantly moving,so to move with the vastness of life without getting stuck, be like it, constantly move. The breeze says to her "I do not move for happiness but out of happiness, I do not dance with happiness but out of happiness. A youth should learn the art to operate from happiness and not for happiness. Happiness is an attitude. To be a winner in life is also an attitude."
Your attitude is more important than the facts as the right attitude can empower you. When you are empowered, you are bigger than the problem rather than the victim to a problem, And living in such a space makes you a winner.
An easy task becomes difficult when you have a poor attitude. A difficult task becomes challenging when you have a good attitude.

Change your mind. Always entertain healthy thoughts. Positive thoughts are great assets. A pessimist sees difficulties in an opportunity and an optimist sees opportunity in a difficult. Understand that one door closes, another opens. Trust life, insecurity invites you to be alert and not worried. It tells you to be creative and not to complain. One has to know how to take easy and float in life and not fight with life. You can't fight with the ways but learn to float.

Change your emotions. The quality of your life is the quality of your consistent emotions. When your emotion is low just change it, think of a happy incident.

Change your values. Have value that connect to goodness and connect two people. Lots of people fear failure, death, insecurity and rejection, come from a commitment that failure is only postponed success. Failure is the fertilizer  for success. If you bring this energy into your life, it will give you methods of handling fear or failure. Also understand fear is a movement of thought. Thought is nothing but a moment of mental word.
When fear happens, just become totally aware and don't  get identified with that thought with wordless awareness just watch. This watch will not allow the previous fear to affect your present.
You feel insecure because you have a concept of 'what is security!' and from that concept you are seeing life. Anything that does not fit your concept makes you insecure.

You have the spirit of adventure in you then insecurity is a great adventure for you to explore. You will have fun with that insecurity. Learn to trust that insecurity is inviting you to be creative.

Maintain Peace At Home

In todays world, people fight with each other on minor issues. It is commonly seen that spouses are dissatisfied with each other and take out their shortcomings. To maintain peace, there are certain things which each one of us should keep in mind.
Patience- if someone says something wrong to you, don't  argue with that person. When he/she is in good
mood, then assert your point in a normal voice tone without offending that person. If there is a
conflict between the spouses then it is the children's responsibilty  to settle their conflicts peacefully.

Respect- remember to give respect to each and every member of the family which is possible by paying attention to their small desires and wants. Remember not to say any word which hurts your spouse.
Ignore your loved ones small mistakes.

Control your Anger- do not confront the anger of the person instead keep yourself in cool temperament and leave the place at that moment. And when the person has cooled down, explain him/her what you wanted to say or do in a peaceful manner.

Help your partner- if your partner is unable to deliver his/her best then help your partner by providing an external employer to maintain harmony in the family which helps to reduce bitterness in the family.

Do not interfere in each others work- do not hold alot of expectations from each other, give your spouse his/her space.

Discuss each others' problems- like financial, emotional, health and other issues like children's education or marriage.Put efforts to deal with these issues.

Discuss your troubles with the elders of your family-their experience will provide you the best solutions for your problems.

Do not say words which would leave a mark in your relationships. Maintain patience during tough times and search for the best solutions to maintain the family's values and development

Celebrate your Aloneness

Waves are not still in an ocean, they come and go. There is a process of life to come and go, thoughts also come and go, reactions come and go and everything on this earth comes and go. Hence one must have a sense of detachment from things. We become serious because of our negativity, even if something that helps us to brings prosperity, we think negative and deny it. We are unable to see the difference between a diamond and a mere stone. What causes you pain often turns out to be the blessing of your life. If any source gives you pain, feel gratitude for that, for suffering creates the opportunity for change. Sometimes, we need pressure and pain to make us change for the better. When a sculptor takes a stone, he removes all the unwanted parts and discovers the figure in the stone. Pain and pressure in life are processes that help to remove all unwanted substances from our lives and realise our true self . We came from One and we have to become one. The highest possibilities of life can come in aloneness. When we are two, then two is pass time. If our life is happy and if it is full of divine blessings, blessed by divine grace, it is because life gives us the fruit of aloneness. Only the divine is alone. The Divine is one.
If someone gives us the experience of aloneness, we should be thankful. When we are alone, we are able to understand ourselves, to know we are aware of ourselves, to see the value of our life. But nobody wants to be alone or to be single. If we become two or three or four then our potentialities gets undiscovered due to our involvement  in the materialistic world. So be happy with your aloneness and play your life with that as it gives us love, peace, happiness, joy, bliss and everything.

Power of Positive Thinking

Yesterday i met my Gurudev- Rajendra Muniji. He told us that the inner strength is above our bodily strength. Once we set our goals,it is important to have inner strength in the form of self-confidence and positive thinking.

To achieve success in life, it is important to have positive thinking. In each and every moment in our lives, we see both the good times and the bad times. When there are good times, we spend them happily and we believe that we can achieve any goal in our life. But when we encounter with the financial, health or family problems we tend to assume that nothing will be changed and we become hopeless about future. Whether it is good or bad times, we have to go through it so why not pass the difficult situations with positive frame of mind! With this the problems we face would be perceived less stressful. It is important to know that even difficult or stressful experiences help to refine our personality and if we face with future problems, it would help us cope with it through our experiences.

Each one of us has a hidden power of positive thinking.

Destiny

Once there was a very beautiful house near a river. Everyday, the servant of the house use to get water from that river in two pitchers hanging on both side of a bamboo. One of the pitcher had a little crack on it which caused the leakage of the water.Hence only half of the water from that pitcher used to get saved.
One day one of the pitcher told the other  that i feel worthless since i am only able to save half of the water for  my master. On hearing this, the master said-"look at the beautiful path which the servant used to take from the river till the house . On that route i threw some of the flower seeds and because of your water, they have turned into beautiful flowers which has also decorated my house." The master also said that each thing in this world has its own destiny,  each human being has its own problem and ability to solve them. Whatever your destiny gives you, take it happily.

Meditation

Meditation is the most powerful spiritual practise which enhace ones life dramatically. Each session is a stepping-stone for the next meditation. Sometimes it becomes an addictive activity as one tends to fall in the trap of overexcitement and haste which results in not being able to meditate blissfully.
There are certain rules which one must keep in mind while doing this activity.
The first rule to keep in mind is "do not expect" - people often hold notions and ideas about the experiences of meditation from self or others.Instead they should keep their mind calm and cool without any expectations.
Secondly,"do not compare" your past experiences of meditating with the new one as you will get the new experience of doing it. Regard each session as a unique one.
Thirdly,do not haste or hurry while doing the meditation..Think that "I have all the time in the world, "I am born onlyto do this", "My work in this life is just to meditate", "I am here to know myself", "God please reveal yourself to me".
The last thing to keep in mind is "to breathe as slowly as possible". Take 5 to 7 seconds to inhale, take another another 5 seconds to hold your breathe and exhale to 5 yo 7 seconds. In case one does it in for 2 to 4 seconds it is another way of knowing one is in haste.
